Jeremy Cook is the Chief Economist and Head of Currency Strategy at WorldFirst – a leading international payments business. He started his career at HSBC, and has now spent 15 years working in Capital Markets. In his day job, Jeremy advises businesses on the risks that currency and, more recently, politics can pose to their international operations. Jeremy is a regular contributor to national print and broadcast media, commenting on topics such as currency markets, fintech, SMEs, Brexit, e-commerce, export and international expansion. His comments are frequently published in key national and trade business media, and Jeremy is also often called upon for expert commentary by leading national and international broadcasters such as BBC News and Bloomberg. He cuts a calm and informative figure, presenting thoughtful and concise analysis. Jeremy has an innate ability to communicate sometimes complicated economic analysis into an everyday language which people can understand. Jeremy spoke at the Institute of Directors in November 2017, has hosted events with BBC Chair Sir David Clementi and previously spoke at WorldFirst’s Think Global event in 2016.
