Gerard GrantVice President, Technology, Innovation & Support Services
A native of Letterkenny, Co. Donegal, Gerard Grant is the Vice President of Technology, Innovation & Support Services at Pramerica Systems Ireland Ltd. In his current role since June 2000 Gerard leads all Technical Operations, Engineering, Campus Support, Facilities and Innovation for Pramerica. Alongside this Mr. Grant has governance responsibilities for the technology operations in Prudential’s International Insurance Division in Poland and Prudential El Paso, Texas. Mr. Grant is leading the development and transition of Pramerica to a new purpose built 135,000 sq. ft. facility on 17-acre green field site located a kilometer from the existing office due for completion in Q3 2017. Gerard began his career in Technical Support at Gateway 2000 Europe providing product development and corporate support to the technicians supporting Gateways EMEA customer base. His next assignment was as a Senior Systems Engineer with Bowneglobal which involved an assignment in Bangkok setting up the infrastructure to support the off-shore eastern localization of Microsoft Office. After returning Gerard joined PricewaterhouseCoopers as a Senior Technical Specialist. During this time, he managed major IT initiatives for PwC including large scale OS Rollouts, Strategic Server Management and Network Migration Projects. During this time Gerard developed several global initiatives for PwC including the first Enterprise Server Standard and a customized anti-virus solution eventually adopted by the worldwide firm. Relocating to the Northwest, Gerard worked with the M3S/Eurosoft; a specialist IT Consultancy based in Northern Ireland. As a Project Director, responsible for external clients, Gerard managed engagements for and on behalf of IBM, Toyota, Smurfit, Aer-Rianta, and Thomas Cooke Travel & British Telecom. Gerard holds B.A. (Hons.) Degree in Business Studies from the University of Ulster a Higher Diploma in Computer Science and has a Masters in Leadership & Innovation. Gerard is also a guest lecturer on Technology Leadership and the Consumerization of IT within the Large Enterprise. Gerard holds officer roles for local sporting and voluntary organizations and is a founding member of the Letterkenny award winning CoderDojo. Gerard is an honorary past president of Letterkenny Chamber of Commerce. Gerard lives in Kilmacrennan, North West Donegal with his wife, Linda and their five boys, Matthew, Anthony, Jamie, Nathan & Lucas.
